You Were Made To Listen To Good News

Before I ever recorded for her.BIBLE behind a microphone, I stood behind one in a newsroom.

For years, I worked as a radio and television journalist—reporting for NBC, Channel Five, and WABC in New York, and later for WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C.

I covered breaking news stories, heartbreaking stories, and everything in between.

I reported plenty of bad news in my career.

But when I came to know Jesus, everything changed.

Now I have the privilege of sharing the good news—and I love doing it!

My journey with Christ began because two women from Cru, Yvonne Easau and Pattie Harris, took the time to disciple me. They opened Scripture with me, prayed with me, and helped me understand what it meant to walk with Jesus day by day.

If they had not taken me under their wing, I might not have grown in my faith the way I did. I am eternally grateful for their obedience and love.

What they poured into me, I have spent my life pouring into other women—through discipleship groups, mentoring, and now through the joy of narrating Scripture for her.BIBLE.

Every time I recorded a passage, I imagined a woman somewhere in the world hearing God’s Word in a voice that feels familiar, comforting, and safe.

I pray she hears not just my voice, but the voice of the Savior who has been pursuing her all along.

One verse captures my calling so clearly, “We love each other because He loved us first” (1 John 4:19).

Jesus loved me first—before I understood Him, before I followed Him, before I ever imagined serving Him. His love found me.

And once it did, I couldn’t keep it to myself. Now, my passion is clear and simple: to share the gospel whenever I can, wherever I can, with as many people as I can.

Whether I’m speaking, teaching, discipling, or narrating Scripture, my heart is the same—that people would know and experience the life-changing love of Christ, a relationship that lasts for eternity.

One of the things I love most about God’s Word is how personal it is. In Exodus, the Lord says, “I know you by name, and I look favorably on you” (Exodus 33:17).

As you listen to her.BIBLE, this is for you. You can hear God’s Word in a voice that feels personal, peaceful, and made for you. This is the heart of the good news.

May His Word remind you that you are seen, known, and deeply loved by the One who loved you first.
